• Superstitions of Al'se'war

    There are many common superstitions among the Colonies of Al'Se'War. Some people claim more true than others.

    • A form of divining one's future spouse is to carve an apple in one long strip, then toss the peel over one's shoulder. The peel is believed to land in the shape of the first letter of the future spouse's name.
    • An Acorn carried is on ones person is good luck
    • Wearing Amethyst can prevent illness and disease.
    • Before slicing a new loaf of bread one would engrave a Triangle on it for good luck.
    • If a cat walks towards you it brings good luck, when it walks away it takes it with you.
    • To drop a comb while brushing your hair it is a sign of disappointment.
    • If you catch a leaf on the first day of Fleurus you will not catch a cold that winter season.
    • During Sallow one must place a sweet outside their door next to a candle to avoid the Sallow mans blessing.
    • Its bad luck to let milk boil over.
    • A girl standing under a mistletoe cannot refuse to be kissed by anyone who claims the privilege, otherwise it is bad luck for the year
    • If you use the same writing utensil to take a test it will remember the answers.
    • To kill a Rok is bad luck for ever, because you if you kill one you slay a hero returning from the dead to watch over us.
    • If you leave a rocking chair rocking after you leave it you invite evil spirits into your home.
    • You sleep best with your head facing north and feet pointing south.
    • Spiders are a repellent for the plague.
    • A veil protects people from evil spirits that hate smiles
    • Red skies at night means good tomorrows.
    • Red skies in the mornings mean danger.
    • Knock three times after mentioning good fortune so evil spirits do not ruin it.
    • A person dressed in black when buried will return to haunt there family.
    • If a dead person's eyes are left open, they will attempt to take someone with him.
    • If the person buried lived a good life, flowers will grow on their grave. However, if they lived a wicked life weeds will grow.
